SPF are delighted to announce that our Director Jez Robin has been nominated for the Guernsey Sports Achievement Awards 2017 for the Dave Dorey Memorial Trophy. This trophy is awarded to the sport or the individual from that sport who has been involved in coaching and/or development and made an outstanding contribution to that sport.

Jez has been coaching at Rovers Football Club for 20 years starting with the youngest group at age 4 and moved up every year to now be the Priaulx coach, he wasthe first Rovers coach in it’s history to win the U18 league and then 3 years later the Priaulx league (2016/17) with some of the lads in the squad that started at Rovers when they were 4 years old.

The awards are a fantastic evening that celebrate all the best about sport in Guernsey. This year Tim Wottonis the headline speaker. Tim is a full time communications consultant, award-winning author, international public speaker and has played field hockey for England! His eyes and heart have been opened by his health struggle with cystic fibrosis (CF) and CF-related diabetes which has been a huge factor in his life, but not one that defines it. The awards will take place on Thursday 11th January at Beau Sejour.

“A huge amount of work is done by all the loyal coaches and support staff at Rovers, but with fantastic success for the club in recent years, it’s fantastic to see 20 years of hard work by Jez Robin being recognized, good luck to him and the other nominees” Rovers AC
