SPF Private Clients has successfully delivered its first workplace mortgage drop-in sessions in partnership with Guernsey Post, providing employees with convenient access to expert mortgage and protection advice in the comfort of their own workplace.

Held over the course of a full working day, the sessions gave employees the opportunity to have confidential one-to-one conversations with mortgage and protection adviser Glenn, covering a range of topics including first-time buying, mortgage renewals, home improvement finance and life insurance reviews.

The initiative proved extremely popular, with 14 employees taking advantage of the service.

For many people, finding time to arrange appointments or feeling confident enough to seek financial advice can be a barrier. By bringing independent advice directly into the workplace, employees were able to access expert guidance in a familiar and relaxed environment.

Guernsey Post praised the initiative, commenting: “We were delighted to welcome Glenn from SPF Private Clients to host workplace mortgage drop-in sessions for our employees. The sessions were incredibly well-received, with many of our colleagues commenting that speaking with an adviser in their own workplace setting felt far less intimidating than arranging an appointment elsewhere.

Glenn was consistently praised for being knowledgeable, approachable and generous with his time. Employees looking to get onto the property ladder found the guidance invaluable, leaving with a much clearer understanding of what they need to do to buy their first home.

We would highly recommend SPF to other organisations looking to provide practical, expert mortgage and protection advice for their staff.”

Glenn said: “It was fantastic to see so many of the Guernsey Post team take advantage of the opportunity to ask questions and seek advice in an informal setting. Whether someone is buying their first home, approaching a mortgage renewal or reviewing their family’s financial protection, having access to expert guidance at work makes those conversations much more accessible.”

As businesses continue to place greater emphasis on employee wellbeing, financial wellbeing is becoming an increasingly important part of the conversation. Workplace mortgage drop-in sessions offer employers a simple, practical benefit that can make a genuine difference to employees while demonstrating a commitment to supporting their financial futures.

Following the success of this pilot with Guernsey Post, SPF Private Clients is now inviting other organisations to explore hosting their own workplace mortgage drop-in sessions.
