Teams of Level 3 BTEC business students from the Guernsey College of Further Education were pitted against each other in the SPF Private Clients Teamwork Challenge, which was designed to test their project management skills.

The challenge was in the form of a cook-off with students working together to plan and prepare dishes from China, India, Jamaica and the USA.

In announcing the winners, Pierre Blampied from SPF said “This was a difficult task for non-catering students but the judges witnessed the excellent teamwork from all group members and felt that the standard of the food was pretty much fit to be served in a restaurant.” He added, “Myself and my fellow judges, Gary Wallbridge from SPF and James Falla, Business Editor from the Guernsey Press, have been delighted to work with the College this year and look forward to a new challenge next year. However, the bar has been set rather high and I would like to say ‘well done’ to all the students who took part in this year’s Challenge!”

In second place receiving a cash prize of £160 are: Yuri Alves, Tia Elliott, Bijoy Ali and Charlotte Esteves.

And, in first place receiving £240, and the SPF Private Clients Teamwork Challenge trophy, are: Alex Hope-Smith, Ellie Trustum, Brandon Michel and Shauna Aslett.

Congratulations to the winning teams and thank you to everyone who took part!
